Ora Ramat’s teaching style combines Vinyasa Flow with somatic sound and breath work to access a deeper yoga experience, striving to inspire her students to tune into the subtleties of their own yoga practice.

Ora Ramat is an experienced certified yoga instructor who has been sharing the transformative power of yoga since 2003. With a rich background in movement, art, and wellness, Ora brings a unique blend of expertise and passion to her teaching.

Ora's diverse teaching experience spans over two decades, including:

  • Teaching at her Wagging Tail Yoga studio in Bethel, New York

  • Yoga instruction at prestigious Manhattan high schools: Abraham Joshua Heschel High School, Ramaz High School, and Spence High School

  • Private yoga sessions for clients aged 25 to 95

  • Chair yoga classes

  • Online instruction

  • Hosted 14 Yoga & Wellness retreats

  • International experience as a faculty member at numerous retreats  including Costa Rica, Morocco and the Dominican Republic.

philosophy & approach

Ora believes in the therapeutic effects of yoga to empower and heal people of all ages. Her teaching style is characterized by:

  • Tailoring sessions to individual needs

  • Fostering self-awareness and personal growth

  • Integrating mindfulness and intention into practice

  • Emphasizing the mind-body connection

  • Bringing a spirit of joyfulness into each person’s practice and life

Background and Inspiration

Ora was originally an Art History and Dance major at Hunter College in New York and Hebrew University in Jerusalem.  Her background in dance and movement, combined with her visual arts expertise, informs her teaching approach. Ora’s personal practice focuses on mindful flowlike movements and breathwork.  Always listening to her body and what it desires; each day is a new beginning on the mat.  

Community Engagement

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ora expanded her reach by offering online chair yoga sessions for her synagogue, Lab Shul. This experience deepened her commitment to making yoga accessible to all and reinforced the importance of community connection through practice.

Vision for the Future

Ora is committed to expanding her ability to serve students both in-person and online. She envisions a future where yoga is an integral part of overall wellness for people of all ages and abilities.

Ramat witnesses remarkable, everyday mastery in her students through adapted poses. “Many of my students are 40 to 95 years young, and the range of modification I do with them is endless,” explains Ramat, who underscores the importance of listening to one’s body.
